The two-week festival returns to the capital showcasing its restaurants and restaurateurs

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The annual London Restaurant Festival returns to the capital with over 800 different restaurants taking part. The two-week event, from 1-15 October is designed to showcase the wide range of cuisines and culinary skills in the British capital. Restaurants taking part will offer special festival menus and one-off dining events.

One of the highlights of the festival will take place in London's Covent Garden Piazza. A collection of London restaurants will show off their cooking techniques, personal flare and ingenuity and sell their concoctions to hungry customers. Another event not to be missed takes place in the London Eye. Each night a top London chef will host a ten-seat restaurant in one of the London Eye's capsules; last year Gordon Ramsay and Richard Corrigan took part.

With events taking place throughout London over the course of 14 days, LondonTown.com, the number one Internet site for London, is advising foodies looking to make the most of London Restaurant Festival to stay in the capital for a couple of nights. It has reduced rates at a number of hotels in London, from budget three-star offerings to luxurious five star properties.

In the budget price range LondonTown.com suggests the Strand Palace Hotel London. LondonTown.com has an exclusive offer running at this hotel slashing prices by 77% bringing room rates to £95 per night. With a great location on the doorstep of Covent Garden 's theatres and restaurants, there's no excuse for guests not to make the most of the capital's outstanding food scene.

For foodies with deep pockets and a penchant for Michelin stars, The Savoy Hotel cannot be beaten. It has recently been transformed to the tune of £220 million. This huge restoration project – one of the most ambitious in Britain – has combined the building's Art Deco and Edwardian architectural histories with beautiful results. But more importantly for foodies, the hotel is synonymous with fine dining. The Savoy Grill, headed up by Chef Patron Stuart Gillies of Gordon Ramsay Holdings, is one of London 's best Michelin-starred restaurants. Additionally, the hotel has six other dining options including The American Bar, the Beaufort Bar, Thames Foyer and the Savoy Tea Room. Rooms at this prestigious property are available for £565 per room, including an exclusive LondonTown.com discount of 19%.
