-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Aer Lingus has launched a packed schedule for next summer with 85 destinations on offer including new sun and city break options and increased frequencies on many existing routes from Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports. Flights are on sale now at aerlingus.com

Included in the new schedule are flights to the sun-drenched island of Corfu. Thought to be one of the most relaxed of the Greek islands with some of the best beaches and architecture in the country, Corfu is a must-see for lovers of all things Greek.

Flights to Copenhagen, one of the airline's new routes, are set to continue throughout the summer. Additional frequencies will be added to many customers' favourite flights to Europe, including destinations such as Berlin, Lisbon, Lanzarote and Nice.

Aer Lingus will also introduce a new service from Shannon to Faro, Portugal, giving customers easy access to the ever-popular holiday resort of the Algarve. In addition, the airline has brought forward the recommencement of services to New York and Boston to March 11th after a short winter break - just in time to meet the strong demand for St. Patrick's weekend.

Customers travelling from Munster have fantastic choice from Cork airport with 23 destinations to choose from and extra flights to Faro and Barcelona every week. Daily flights will continue between Ireland West Airport - Knock and London Gatwick and Birmingham.

Commenting on the launch, Aer Lingus Director of Communications, Declan Kearney said: "Our 2013 summer schedule offers our customers more choice with additional frequencies, new destinations and a great mix of city break and summer sun options. We've also significantly increased our number of transatlantic flights in response to customer demand. We look forward to welcoming customers on board the new services."

For summer 2013, Aer Lingus will add an extra 112,000 seats to its transatlantic flight offers. This 15% increase in transatlantic capacity versus 2011 will take the form of 90 additional roundtrips between Dublin and Boston and 120 additional roundtrips between Dublin and Chicago. This will give a significant boost to inbound tourism from the United States.
